Valley floor, high country, and the long light on the walls. Ground work only here, the park is no fly.

Big Sur and the coast

Fog, cliffs, and the light that shows up for about twenty minutes and then leaves.

Eastern Sierra

Mono Lake, the passes, and the dark sky that makes the night work possible.

Central Valley and the Delta

Orchards, levees, and flat country that reads completely differently from four hundred feet.
